Bruges is not only the largest city in the Province of West Flanders in the Flemish region belonging to Belgium, but in addition it is also the capital, which is located in the northwest region of the country itself. The city of Bruges is oval-shaped and is located right off of the coast of Zeebrugge.

Bruges is home to 117.073 people and just like Amsterdam is sometimes called “The Venice of the North”. Its history does date back to Pre-Roman Gaul, and its Golden Age took place between the 12th to 15th century. Some of its most notable sights include the Church of Our Lady, a 13th century that houses 48 bells, and the Beguinage.

For those who visit hotels Bruges include Hotel Cavalier, Bonobo Apart Hotel and Goezeput. Some of the middle ground choices include Hotel Ensor and Hostellerie Pannenhuis. Some of the high end hotels are Grand Hotel Casselbergh Brugge and the Pand Hotel.
